Note: the Lighting layout of this Tutorial is made random and is not meant to show a good practice of lighting design, the sole purpose is to show the different feature of DIALux evo with many different luminaries e.g. RGBW and RGB.

For this Tutorial you should create a project like the one Bellow

Throughout this tutorial the following definition will be used1.     MODE SELECTION           Marked in the blue box in the above image.The mode could be contraction, EN12464, Light, calculation or documentation. 2.     TOOL SELECTION Tool Selection marked in red is the vertical tool bar which has many tools according to the mode selection .3.      CAD VIEW SELECTION  Marked in yellow where you can select the site, Building, story or roomFor any of the above spaces you can select 3D, floorplan or one of the 4 elevations (front, right, back, left) 4.     The Manipulator Marked in black box, you can move, rotate, scale, use measure tape or zoom all. 5.     Display option Marked in green box has many display option where you can hide or show reference line, imported cad etc. 6.     Action and property window Marked in pink boxHere you can take an action or change a property of an object, luminaire, room surface etc.

Step-1 Creating a project

Start the software then selectOutdoor and building planning.

-

Step-2   Importing Multiple cad files

Make sure you are in CONSTRUCTION mode and select DRAWINGS TOOL

-

Try to find a project where you have multiple CAD files for the same project like Ceiling layout, Furniture layout..etc. Or may be ground floor layout, first floor layout.Try to find at least two drawings.

-

Click import select more than one file and open to import all the files.Importing cad files is not limited at this stage, even later you can add more files if you wish.Unlike DIALux 4 which is limited to one cad file. With DIALux evo you can import many files to design a complete building!Note: if you don’t see the text beside the icon click on the question mark (?) On the right corner of the window to show the descriptive text.

After importing you can see the file you have imported, the one in the orange is the current selection.The check box to allow you to show or hide the CAD file.

-

Step-3 Finding the current scale

Many times we receive cad files, without any idea about the unit of the file.so first verify the file by zooming to one architectural element, like doors or windows and measure the dimension if you have realistic values then your current scale is correct it you have unrealistic values like the one I have, then change the scale.Figuring out the scale is easy, the door I have is 1000m, it should be 1 meter as realistic value then the real scale is millimeter.

Step-4  Changing the current scale

Before you change the scale of the file make sure you select the file by clicking on the file, to make sure it is your current selection look the orange square. Change the units form the scale window by clicking on the drop down menu. Tip: if you have many cad file you can you the search box to search by name. Finally scale the other files to the correct scale.

-

After you scale all the files ZOOM ALL form the top menu bar, if you cannot see the files then you have to put to 0, 0, 0 the positioning window under the scale window.

Step-5   Moving and rotating the cad files

Imagine you have ceiling plan and furniture layout plan which are located apart and you want to move one above another then select the ceiling layout cad and click on move.Move form common reference point on both drawing e.g.( window, door, elevator shaft, corner of a room) form point 1 which is the current selected cad to point 2 which is the target point.

You can rotate the drawing in the rotation box by putting the value of the rotation angle.

-

Step-6 Other properties of the imported cad files

If you scroll down the side bar you will find other two windows which could be minimizedThe layer and file options windows.Click on the small arrow to open the option.You can open the layer window and change the color of the cad layers, that is very handy if the color is not matching well with background like very light color on white background.

-

The file options contain an option if you want to save the cad inside the DIALux evo file, but this could make the file very huge.This option could be useful if you want to give the file to somebody else, so you can give him DIALux file with all cad and the modification you made in moving, rotation and layer colors

-

Step-7  Removing the cad files

For this tutorial we will continue without  cad files as background, so remove the cad files by selecting the file and right click mouse and select remove, alternately select the file +Del key

-

Step-8  Creating a site

Go to Site view in the construction mode.

-

Make sure form the display option at the upper right corner, the SHOW COORDINATE SYSTEM is activated if not then selected, this will show you the x,y,z axis @0,0,0 position with lines for each axis try to activate and deactivate to see the difference, but for now make it on.

-

On the FLOORPLAN VIEW zoom in to the coordinate system by rotating the middle wheel of the mouse.pan by moving the mouse  while pushing the wheel down.

-

Select Draw rectangular floor element.

-

Start form the coordinate system point1 @0,0,0 and move to point 2 x=40, then move to point 3 @y=30 you can use the ruler up to see the x value and the ruler left to see y value.Zoom and pan help you achieve this very easily

-

Check if you made it right form last step by looking the positioning value.PositionX=20,Y=15SizeX=40,Y=30

-

Step-9 Using help lines to create building layout

Drawing many reference lines would probably make it this part as the most boring part of this tutorial but this step is very very important to follow the complete Tutorial so please be patient when you make these reference lines thought this tutorial

Go to reference help line selectDraw Help reference grid  and draw this grid on the site.

-

Draw form point 1 to point 2 to make the grid appear at top.(anti-clock wise)If you draw the grid form point 2 to point 1 the grid will appear down the line.

-

The point marked in GREEN SQUARE let you move the whole grid.The point marked in RED SQUARE allow you to make the grid bigger or smaller by moving the point right or lift, this point also allow you to rotate the grid by moving the point up or down.The point marked in BROWN to scale the grid in y.The two circle to set the size of the grid in x and y.

-

You can also modify the grid position and size by keyboard entry. . Form the window of the reference line, this window will appear only after creation of the grid.For this tutorial modify  the grid @Position X=10,Y=10Length =6Width=6Line distance X=6Line distance X=6

-

Create anther grid somewhere in the site and modify the values toPosition X=13,Y=13Length =20Width=14Line distance X=20Line distance X=14

-

You should have a similar layout to this one.

-

Form reference tool select a draw reference line and line with parallels spaced apart 1.2 M.Make sure the offset line is outside the second grid.note: reference tool explained in details in tutorial 4

-

Make another reference line with offset (parallels spaced apart -7)You have to put (-) sign before the 7 or use the rotation to make the offset to the left

-

Make another reference line on the second one with offset (parallels spaced apart -4.5)

-

Draw polygonal reference line on the marked points in red circles.

-

You can delete the reference help line with the parallels spaced apart lines,so you can have a similar layout to this one

-

Step-10 Creating the outline of the building 

Go to SITE tool and select Draw new Building

-

Draw the line on the corner of the layout,You have nine points as this image. Once you finish right click and select close polygon.Remember you can zoom by the middle wheel and pan by holding the middle wheel down and move.After you finish this step the software will change the current SITE tool to STORY AND BUILDING CONSTRUCTION tool

-

Go back to SITE tool, make sure the active cad view is Site1 not Storey1.Select the Building you created and name it once the window appears.If you don’t select the Building you cannot see this window.Name the Building as TB5In the DESCRIPTION you can write any words you want to show in the print outYou can also change the position or rotate the Building after creation, this could be done either form the position or by selecting the standard manipulators MOVE, ROTATE in the near the CAD view selection.For this tutorial make the position the same without any change.

-

Finally use key Esc (to deselect the Building)Change the name of the site to ST5.In DIALux evo is very important to know at which mode, which tool and what cad view you are one to take an action.

-

You can also change the name of the site and Building by going to project overview tool and double click on the name and change it.

-

Step-11  Creating the layout of walls

Go to reverence lines tool, change the cad view to Storey 1.Draw 10 reference line with parallels spaced apart for each one as 0.2 mThis is the thickness of the exterior wall

-

Zoom the open coroner and move the line form the dot marked in red circle to close the corner.Do this step for all open corners.

-

Draw reference line with parallels spaced apart =7 form the lower edge of the building.You can check value entries.

-

Draw another reference line with parallels spaced apart =3.This line should be located at the last line.

-

Draw a vertical line form the corner marked in red circle and make the parallels spaced apart =0.05 to the left of the line.

-

In the area between the lines with 3 meter apart draw two reference linesOne at bottom with parallels spaced apart=0.05 to the top of the new line.The other at top with parallels spaced apart=0.05 to bottom of the new line.

-

Select the last created reference line which has other 3 lines spaced apart, then use shortcut CTRL+C and CTRL+VModify theStart Point =2.85End Point =2.85

Draw Reference Line and modify it @ Start point X=13,   Y=-14(minus 14) End point  X=19.8, Y=-14(minus 14)

-

Step-12 Creating the indoor contour 

Go to Storey And Building Construction tool.Draw New Indoor ContourIf you see this as faded that because you are not in Storey 1 cad view, so make the active cad view as Storey 1

-

Once you started Draw New Indoor Contour,The action will be active until you exit the action by using Esc key.So you can draw 8 rooms by clicking the left mouse button on the red corner start form room 1.

-

Draw New Indoor Contour following corners of the inside offset lines, once you finished right click and select close polygon.To make it easy zoom and pan near the corner, but if you select other than the corner don’t worry continue and you can modify this later.

-

After you finish the 8 rooms click Esc to exit the action.If you made any contour with incorrect points,Select the contour by putting the cursor on the border of the contour not the middle; if you cannot select it make sure you are in the Storey And Building Construction tool.then select the point and move it to the right position

-

While selecting the finished contour, you can right click and the pop menu will give you options-Add point- Delete point (active only if causer near point)-Generate polygon anew (redraw).-        Delete contour

-

In the Active Storey windowPut the Name as  Ground FloorMake Story Height as 3.5 M

-

After creating the rooms the help lines could be hiddenFrom display option, make the reference line inactive

-

Step-13 Assessment zone-Name and Light requirements 

Go to Assessment Zone ToolSelect the room in the upper right corner

-

Put the name as Training Roomheight of working plane=0.8Wall zone=0.5

-

In Details Select the Template as officesConference and meeting room.This has the requirement of EN 12464 with lighting requirement as Lux of the task area, surrounding area and background area,Uniformity on the task area and UGR maximum limit.

-

Form display option makes sure the Show Room Designations is active so you can see the name of room in the plan.You can hide it if you don’t want to see the name.

-

Change the name of the other room as shown in this image.Office 1Office 2Office 3Training RoomCorridorOpen Plan OfficeBalconyEntrance

For corridor go to details, change the Utilisation profile asTraffic zones inside buildings thenCirculation areas and corridors

Once room are created you will find in the cad view selection area for rooms, naming rooms help you identify easily which to select.

Step-14 Inserting Furniture and objects 

Go to Furniture and objects toolSelect DIALux evo object Catalog.

-

Using search box, insert the following furnitureTable P2+M2Office chair2Flip Chart tSimple ChairTable P1 PC t Johan1 Johan2

From cad view select Office 1 a & insert-        Table P1-Office chair2Rotate & move the objects to have similar to this layout.

-

Go to ground floor viewCopy the table & chair by using keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C Paste by using Ctrl+V Move the object to office 2 by MOVE Manipulator.Repeat this for Office 3

-

Select cad view to be Training Room, 3d view.Inset the flip chart in the room.

-

Use keyboard Ctrl+T to open new window tab.Make the new tab as floorplan viewNow you have to tabs one for 3d and one for floor plan, this helps you swap between views quickly.Note: You can open up to 8 tabs for different cad view, see the + sign on the upper right corner.

-

Select the active object to be Office chair2, then select Draw rectangular Arrangements.

-

Draw the rectangular following points 1, 2& 3.

-

Modify the grid arrangement of this chair to have X=4,Y=3Rotate to the side of the flip chartNote:You can always get more properties by clicking on the arrows

-

Select the chair in the training room, then Replace Selected Objects.Select simple chair and apply.

-

By selecting Edit grid line Manipulator while selecting the chair arrangements you can modify it by add, deleting or locking this arrangement.

-

Go to Open Plan Office cad viewFrom Reference Lines tool, insert Grid reference with.X=4.300Y=3.500

-

Form Display Options activate Show Reference Lines

-

Table P1 and office Chair2 Copy paste to get 4 of each.Use move, rotate to get the arrangement at center of the first ¼ of the room.Tip: to avoid snapping object to undesired location, hold Shift Key down while moving an a object

Place 4 PC t object on the tables

-

Make Front View as your active cad view & make sure the PC are on tables, if not use move manipulator and move by the blue arrow up.

-

Go to copy and arrange tool and select the 2 chair, 2 tables and the 2 PC t and center Y.Repeat the same form the lower two sets

-

While you are in Copy & Arrange tool, select all tables chairs and PC t in the Open Plan Office. Select Copy Along A Line option draw the line form point 1 (middle of second quarter of the Grid)to point 2 (middle of the fourth quarter of the Grid)) Put quantity as 3 Apply

-

Inset Johan1 and Johan2 in the open plan officeMake them facing each other Using MOVE & ROTATE Manipulator if required.

-

Step-15 Inserting Apertures(Windows & Doors)

- Go to Apertures Tool-Select Door if not Selected,- position active building Opening-Zoom to OfficePlace the door on the wall of office 1

-

Place Doors in the 5 rooms as shown in this image.Use Esc key to exit this action.

-

Select Square window

-

Place three windows in Office 1,2 & 3Use Esc Key to exit this action.

-

- Zoom to Training Room- Select Draw New building opening- Draw the line form point 1 to point 2.- Use Esc key to exit action

-

Go to Reference Lines tool Draw a line form 1 at corner to point 2 somewhere inside the room. Make Parallels Spaced Apart =-3.2 (minus) Number of Parallels=3

-

Go to Apertures ToolSelect Square windowDraw new building Opening from point 1 to point 2.

-

Go to 3d view of Ground floorSelect the last created window

-

In the properties of the window modify the following dataHeight =3Frame width=0.05Sill height =0Mullion Position=2.4Mullion width=0.05

-

Go to floorplan view and copy paste last window using Ctrl+C & Ctrl+VMove window by using corner points of the window to the reference linesRepeat this another time so you have total of 3 windows.

-

Copy the last window and move it to the balcony.

-

Select Standard window and putHeight=3.5Width=1.5Frame width=0.06Sill height =0

-

Place the window in the entrance area as shown in this image and move it down to the end of the wall

-

If you go to 3d view you will see the window is cutting big part of the building.

-

From the properties of the window select the fixed cutting depth to 0.2

-

Place other 7 window of the same dimension as shown.The total at the entrance will be 8.If the window is cutting other part of the building go to the properties of the window select the fixed cutting depth to 0.2

-

Step-16 Using the Cutout tool

Cutout tool is very powerful tool.Go to floorplan view of the Ground Floor and zoom to the wall that separates  the corridor form the Entrance

-

Go to cutout tool and select the Rectangular cutout

-

Draw the cutout on the wall separating the corridor form the Entrance

-

The cutout has removed the wall between the two spaces.This is where useful where you want to create an opening without door.

-

Zoom to the Balcony wall

-

Select polygonal cutout

-

Draw the polygonal cutout on the outer wall of the balcony and right click to select the close polygon

-

After you create the cutout you can edit the polygon using the manipulator tool.You can move points; if you right click you can add or delete points.Make this cutout to cover the outer wall of the Balcony.

-

Because cutout could be used for floor, walls, or ceiling, it is easier to do the cutout in 3d view then modify it in the floorplan view.

-

You should be having similar to this image if not, delete the cutout and redraw it in 3d view and modify it in floorplan.

-

Step-17 Inserting Room Elements 

Go to floorplan of the Entrance room viewPlace a Help Reference Grid withPosition X= 0,Y= 0Length= 5.6Width = 5.6Line Distance X= 2.8Line Distance Y= 2.8Note: If you are in ground floor view the position will be different, it is important to do this step in the Room View of the Entrance.

-

For any of the four square you have in this Reference Grid DIALux will snap (detect) the points on the end or middle of any line (marked in red circle in the side image).But also to the middle of the Grid (Marked with Blue Circle)For this reference line we will use the center of the Grid (the location of the Blue circle)

-

Go to Room Elements ToolSelect Column (Round)Place it in the middle of the upper leftIf you don’t see the Reference Grid activated the view form Display Options

-

Select the column and scroll down to propertiesPutWidth   = 0.6Length = 0.6Segments = 50 (to make the column smooth, more surfaces could increase time calculation).

-

Use CTRL+C and CTRL+V to copy and paste the column to get total of 4 in the center of the Grids.Use move manipulator to move the columns

-

Step-18 Inserting Luminaries

Download the ULD Data for the above luminaires.

After downloading inset the luminaire as explained in Tutorial 4 step-61

TipsClick on Select button on Luminaires ToolIf you have many luminaries you can right click and delete the History.You can also make the view bigger by adjusting the bar at the lower left corner.

Go to Light ModeSelect Luminaire toolClick on SelectWrite 83233 in the search box

Draw rectangular arrangements to cover the tables area as shown in the side image.Put the grid linesX=8Y=2

Write 83313 in the search box of the select for Active luminaireDraw line arrangement in the corridorform Display Options,make sure the Show Light Distribution Curves is active make the quantity as 5 and rotate luminaire using Rotate buttonThe luminaire oval flood has to in longitudinal direction for the corridor.

Click on Automatic Arrangements for spaces and select Office 1Repeat this action forOffice 2Office 3Training Room

-Select all the luminaires in Office 1,Office 2, Office 3 and Training room and click on Replace Selected Luminaires.- The software will show you the current selection marked in Orang box- Select the other Downlight that was used for Open plan office-Click on Apply-The software will show you massage asking whether to recalculate installation potion or not, click on yes.

Select the active luminaire to be Trion Ceiling washlightDraw line arrangement at the back wall of the Open Plan Office.Make quantity as 12Click on Rotate to make luminaires inside the room.

Select the active luminaire to 41016Draw circular arrangement around one of the column.If you can’t draw it then hide the Reference line form Display Option, then draw the circle arrangement.

Scroll down to property and makeQuantity = 4Radius    = 0.425

-

Select the upper luminaire twice.If you click only one time then you are selecting the arraignment, by clicking second time on the luminaire you will be selecting only indusial luminaire.Select the lower luminaire and thenGo to copy & arrange tool in light mode.Select the columnVery important, if you can’t select the column that because you are not the Copy & Arrange tool.After selection of the two luminaire and the column then align to center X

Select the Right and Left luminaire.Make sure you are still on Copy & Arrange toolCenter Y

Use CTRL+C and CTRL+V to copy and paste the luminaires arrangements to get total of 4 in the center of the columns.Use move manipulator to move the luminaires arrangements.

Step-19 Duplicate Story

Go to Storey and Building Construction Tool. Select Duplicate Storey Put 2 as Copies of Ground Floor Leave everything selected in the TO Be copied. Click Duplicate button.

Click inside the text and change the names of the floor to first floor and 2nd floor

-

Go to 3d view of the site view which is named as ST5, you should be having same as this image.

-

Step-20 Modifying the Floors

In the 3d view of the site view go to Cutout ToolNow cutouts will appear in greenSelect the cutout of the first floor of the balcony and activate limit cutout depth and make cutting depth = 2.5Now you have a balcony for the first floor!

-

Repeat the last step for the cutout in the 2nd floor to get a second Balcony.

-

Select all the spotlights around the column in the ground floor only and delete them.

-

Select First Floor view and select Entrance Room View- this is the Entrance room of the first Floor.Select the cad view to be Floorplan view.Go to Cutout Tool and draw Polygonal Cutout to cover the whole room which is named as Entrance in the first floorAfter creating the Cutout  you can modify it by the Manipulator in the tool bar or by mouse right click when you place the cursor on near the Cutout

-

Go to Site View of ST5Select Martials ToolZoom to inside the Entrance.Now you have a double height Entrance because you made a Cutout in the floor of the First floor.Note:You can also make the Cutout in the ceiling of the ground floor to get the same result but you have to use 3d View of the Room or floorplan view of the Ground Floor while creating the Cutout.

-

Select the Pick Material and move the cursor to the wall to get the wall color.Select Apply Material to the grey color created by the Cutout which is the Floor color.Move rotates the view to apply this new material to all dark grey color.

-

Select Front view of the Site view and go to the Room Elements Tool.If you are on Materials Tool you cannot select room Elements, you can only select surfaces.Select all the column in the First Floor and delete them by right Click –> DeleteOr by Keyboard Delete Key.

-

Select only one column in the ground floor and click on Scale Manipulator,Scale the column to the ceiling of the first floor by moving the mouse up in Z axis.

-

After Scaling the column you can check the height, it should be 7.2 which is the two Floor Height 2×3.5 Meter +0.2 the slab thickness the floor.Make the other columns the same height, by selecting all columns and putting this value or by Scale Manipulator and selecting Individual columns.

-

Make the View as Site 3d viewZoom to the corridor of the First floor , this should have interior balcony.Go to CutoutSelect the Cutout in the Ceiling which was created in the Ground floor and Copied in the Duplicate Floors.Activate Cutting Depth and make the value as 2 Meter.

-

Select all the windows in the 2nd floor and delete them.

-

Go to 2nd floor Room View of the Entrance, Floor plan view.Select assessment ZonesSelect the Entrance Room and change the name to be Multi-Purpose Hall

-

Go to Cutout Tool and select Rectangular Cutout and Draw it in the outer wall of the Multi-purpose hall following points 1,2 & 3Activate Limit Cutting Depth and make it 0.15Modify properties toPositionX=0, Y= -17, Z = 1.7Size 4,3Note:The reason for following points 1,2 & 3 while creating the cut out to get the same properties, if you follow other points the size could be X =4 , Y=3 instead of X=4 and Y=3.

Step-21 Creating Cutout in the Facade

Create another Cutout following points 1,2 & 3activate Limit Cutting Depth and make it 0.15Modify propertiesPosition-2.5,-17,1.7Size 0.3,3

Create another Cutout following points 1,2 & 3activate Limit Cutting Depth and make it 0.15Modify propertiesPosition 2.5,-17,1.7Size 0.3,3

Go to front view to make sure your cutout are made in straight lines if not modify them

Step-22 Inserting luminaries in the facade

Select Cad View to be floorplan of 2nd floor. Go to Light Mode Select the active luminaire to Be Focalflood Draw Line arrangement Draw it form the point A to Point B on the back line of the big Cutout Go to front view and move the line down to bottom of the big Cutout.

The location of the luminaire should same as this image.

-

Make the active luminaire Kubus. Place individual Luminaire. Place it in the mall cutout move rotate to make it inside this Cutout. Go to front view & make sure the luminaire are at the bottom of the small Cutout. Repeat the same for the other small cutout.

-

Place 4 Kubus Luminaire in the two balcony

-

Go to calculation Mode Select Light Scene Tool Change the RGBW Color to Trion in similar way as explained in Tutorial 4, you should be having 3 groups one for each floor. Change the color of the RGB luminaire of focal flood façade Start Calculation Tip: To reduce calculation time make the groups less that the default value

-

Step-23 Inserting dimension & text 

After calculation is finished Go to Dimension Tool Draw new Dimension line Make it between the Trion ceiling wahshlight in the floorplan in any of the floor Change the formatting Display Arrows on outside Text Size to normal

-

Go to Labeling Tool Place new Text Place it near the dimension White Spacing and apply You can chage the formatting as you wish including the font size

-

Go to View Tool Zoom the plan to good scale to show the text and dimension Save new view

-

Go to front view place dimension to show the height of the Trion Washlight form floor.

-

Go to view Tool Save the view showing the last dimension of the height. White the name as Height of Trion White in Description Height From FLL of Ceiling Wahshlight

Go To Documentation Mode Click on Edit Select Views Go to All Tab Select height of Trion Click the refresh button

The Description will appear under the image view.Description is very useful tool and it is available for rooms floors and many other, you can use it to tell your client what is the brief about particular space or view.

19,000 people fit into the new Barclays Center to see Jay-Z perform. This blog was viewed about 80,000 times in 2012. If it were a concert at the Barclays Center, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

In this tutorial you will learn the following commands.

1-               Using help lines.

2-               Inserting false ceiling.

3-               Creating niche in the ceiling by using cutout tool..

4-               Inserting furniture, importing 3ds files and m3d files. Creating objects.

5-               Copying along reference lines.

6-               Using copy and arrange tool.

7-               Using colors, textures and importing images.

8-               Modifying textures by move, scale and rotate option.

9-               Applying Reflection and Reflective coating to materials.

10-           Using RGBW wallwashers (colored light e.g. LED) and tiltable spotlight.

11-           Aiming tiltable luminaires “model with joints”

12-           Save Camera View or POV (Point of View).

13-           Managing  light scenes and control groups.

14-           Calculation and rendering.

15-           Preparing the print out report.

For this tutorials you will build up a similar scene to the one below

Creating room

Step-1

Start an empty rectangular room

Step-2

Put the following dimensionsLength 7 m ,with 5 m, Height 4

Tip:

You put the room type if you want to get the recommended lighting levels as per EN12464 in Assessment zone and application.

To have similar view to my following snap shots thought this tutorial click on the question mark ? Icon on the property window to hide deceptive texts.

Creating Dropped Ceiling 

Step-3

Make sure you are on constriction mode

Go to reference line tool

Select a line

Select a room cad view NOT STORY and make sure you are in Floorplan view

Draw a reference line in the room form point 1 to 2 and make the offset line to be 1 m in the PARALLELS SPACED APART.

Tip: if the line is outside the room you can rotate along z axis 180 different than your current angle.

Step-4

Go to Ceiling Tool Click inside the room to select the room

Draw new ceiling following points 1,2 (points at the offset reference line) then 3,4 and last right click the mouse and select close polygon.

Make sure to put theClearance height = 3.25ceiling thickness=0.75m0.75m of thickness to make it solid without void because you are going to use the cutout tool as you will see later

Creating a recessed track lighting system

Step-5

From reference lines tool draw help reference grid with distance of x,y as 1,1 m above the dropped ceiling

 Step-6

You can delete the help reference grid, and now you can see polygonal reference line clearly.

Step-7

This is the position of a track light system.Now create offset lines form the four sides of the polygonal reference line in the same way as you did step-3 with an offset value of 0.035 m so you have the width of a track like the next image

Step-8

go to 3d view

Select cutout toolAnd draw a rectangular cut out in the dropped ceiling

Draw a random cutout in the ceiling

Go to plan view and select the cutout you made, if you can’t select it then go to the Cutout tool and select the cutout.

Move the corner points of the cutout to the corner points of the outer reference lines by mouse.

Go to plan view and select the cutout you made, if you can’t select it then go to the Cutout tool and select the cutout.Move the corner points of the cutout to the corner points of the outer reference lines by mouse.

While selecting the cutoutActivate the Limit Cutting Depthput 0035 m as depthThis is the depth of a the Track

Step-9

Now go to material tool

Step-10

Select a black color and drag it while pushing the shift key of keyboard and apply the color to the inner surface of the niche.

Step-11

Go to plan view and make another ceiling in the corner of the inner reference lines.

Step-12

Put clearance height as 3.25 and ceiling thickness 0.75

Step-13

Go to color and pick the color that you used by selecting the pick material optionsThen apply it to the four sides’ surface of the new ceiling.

Now you should be having niche in the ceiling similar to a reassessed track lighting system

Of course you could do the above by many different ways like objects and subtraction, but this way is very useful when you place lighting as DIALux detects ceiling and place the ceiling luminaires right at the ceiling!

Inserting furniture and objects

Step-14

Go to furniture and objects tool and select DIALux evo object catalog

Put  in the search box the word 200×80 a legs Select the object that appears Click apply and close

Step-15

select place individual object and place it somewhere in the roomMake the position at x=3,y=2 mHeight =0.35Rotation @Z=90°

You can always use the mouse tool of modifying objects, which could be very handy if you have a cad background

Step-16

Place a standard cube@position x=3m ,y=4.65 mSize L =0.3 ,W=0.3, H=1.3

Step-17

Repeat the above for another cube with

position x=0.070m, y=2.9 m

size L = 0.140, W=4.2, H= 0.420

Step-18

Insert another cube with

size L = 0.020, W= 0.800, H= 0.4 somewhere in the room, it doesn’t matter where as you are going to use it to create copies of it and delete it later, but make it near the left wall.

Step-19

		Select the last cube and go to copy and arrange tool then select copy along line.If you are not selecting an object you will not see this option as active.

Draw the line on the cube near the left wall

Put the following valuesبirst put Quantity 5Then distance 0.825Then apply

Move the green arrow down to center of the cubeTip if you select the triangle then you can move in x,y plane, but if you select the green arrow you will move the object only in y axis.The red arrow will move only in x axis.For this tutorial move only the green arrow.

After creating this object ungroup the parts

Step-20

Delete the object that was created in step-18 (used to creates these parts witch is selected in the next image)

Step-21

Make sure you are in the Copy and Arrange Tool, Select all the objects near the wall, and select center z to make the smaller objects and the center height of the bigger object.

Step-22

create the last object which we use it as a painting on the wall

Place a cube with

position x= 0.025m, y= 2.55m, Z=1m

Size L = 0.050, W= 1.100, H= 1.100

Step-23

Go to floorplan view and while selecting the last object use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy and paste the last object (you can also copy and paste by mouse right click )

The pasted object will be automatically selected, but should be modified to the following values

Size L = 0.030, W= 1.05, H= 1.05

Step-24

Go to front view  If you don’t see front view then click on the small arrowTip: use shift to select another abject and ctrl to deselect an abject

Select the last two objects on the wall go to Copy and Arrange Tool and select Align Right x, Then click center z

Step-25

Finally select subtract, and click on subtract button after you make select the bigger object if not selected.You can swap between objects under the line SUBTRACT FORM WHICH OBJECT?

Now you should be having a view like this one.

Importing 3ds and m3d files to DIALux evo

Step-26

In similar way to Step-3 ,draw 2 reference lines with an offset of 0.35 m form the table.the reference line will be the the edge of the table and the PARALLELS SPACED APART=0.35 outside the table.use rotation if the offset line is inside the table.Draw two lines, one for each sidefor each one like the next image, to place you can use this for imported chair in these locations.

Step-27

Vitra Organic Chair  will be used in this tutorial

Vitra provide 3ds files for most of their products which could be imported easily into DIALux 4 and DIALux evo, however the file size should remain small in size with not too many surfaces, as rule of thumb try not to include a file more than 1 Mb,

This file has 208 KB which should be ok for most computers but if your computer specification is low then try to use lighter file, or use DIALux standard furniture.

go to DIALux Furniture and Objects tool and select DIALux object Catalog

Once the catalog opens click on import button which is located at bottom left of the catalog

Now click on add files and browse to the downloaded file of vita organic chair

You Have To Select All Files While Importing 3ds files for version evo1, otherwise  you won’t be able to see the 3ds file

Select the 3ds of the downloaded file

Step-28

Go back to the catalog (if the catalog is minimized then maximize it) Select the object in the right window by mouse. click assign click import

Now in the search box of the catalog white organic, select the file and then apply, or double click on the object.

Make sure the chair appears in the furniture and objects window.Select Draw line arrangment

draw the line arrangement form point 1 to point 2.if you draw it from line 2 to 1 then you have to rotate it later(anti-clockwise)

Put the quantity 2 and distance as 2

Repeat the line arrangement for chair for the lower reference line then Put the quantity 2 and distance as 2 for the second line.

Move both arrangements to the center of the reference line, by selecting the red arrow

If you select one of the chairs you select the arrangement where you can modify that arrangement, if you click another time on the same chair you activate selection of only that chair, then you can modify the object properties.

Now select any chair twice to activate object properties and then select all other chair and modify the height to 0.675 m

If you feel your computer get slow in calculation download a liter chair form vita called Tom Vac, this chair has only 61.1 KB

To replace all chair at one command select all chairs and then click on Replace selected objects, and then select the new object. Of course you have to import the new 3ds file first.

Go to http://archive3d.net to download flowers, this is a good website that has a lot of 3ds files, some of them could be used in DIALux which has small size and not too surfaces.

Unlike Vitra 3ds made in meters which is perfect for DIALux, you find a lot of files in this website in different dimensions e.g. (mm, inches and feet)

Step-36

The current version of DIALux evo 1 doesn’t yet have an automatic scaling tool so you can use DIALux 4 to import and scale 3ds file and then save the file in m3d format.Open DIALux 4 and create a room of any size then go to file, import and edit 3d models.

Select the downloaded 3ds flower file (Flower N171208) and then click next and select millimeters.Click next twice and finish.

Step-37

select the object and right click the mouse and select save objectSave object to a convenient location, let’s make it desktop and name it as Flower T4.

In a similar way to step-26 go to DIALux evo Furniture and Objects tool and open DIALux furniture catalog and import the files as you did in importing Vitra chair.

After importing write in the search box of the catalog the word Flower T, selected and apply, similar to step-17

Go to 3d view and place the flower somewhere on the table, you can do this by dragging the flower by mouse to the table or by using place individual object and then selecting the location.

Keep the flowers selected and go to copy and arrange tool, click shift and select the table so you have both objects selected.Click on center x, center y to make the flower vase center on table.

let’s place the last object for this tutorial, go to furniture and object and select a sphere and make segments as 24 and diameter as 0.3

Place it on the column created earlier

Go to plan view and select the corner of the sphere to the corner of the column, this is a very easy way to move objects corners

go to front view and move the z arrow of the sphere up to be at top of the column

Applying materials and colors

Time to color your project so go to Materials tool

Select apply material and apply it to the front face of the painting object (alternately drag it while holding shift key down)

Select the material on the painting and scale it to cover the whole painting.The points marked in red to scale.The point marked in green to rotate.The point marked in blue to move.

let’s apply color to the rest of the surfaces by toing to Material Tool and selecting Create Color Material Adjust saturation to left so you can get a white color. Red, green and blue to high values Select Material type to be painted. Put reflection factor as 80%. Note: 80% is very high don’t use this values for walls unless you are really sure as this value affect the calculation drastically The default values in practice is 70% for ceiling, 50% for walls and 20% for floor

Step-55

Apply this color to the ceiling 3 parts, walls, column, sphere and the 6 parts of low cabinet under the paining.

After applying the color to the above object in the upper table and walls, change the color property Material Type :Metallic. Reflection factor=90%. Reflective coating=90 (this is to make the object glossy and have a polish look like a metal similart to the prieview sphere). Apply the above color to the legs of chair and table to give them polish metal look during rendering.

Apply similar color  shown in the image to the chair top parts

Zoom to flower vase and apply a white color to the flowers, and a dark green to the grey color.

Select a white color and apply the following valuesChange the Material type to TransparentMake reflection factor around 40%Degree of transmission around 30%And refractive index as 1.3

Inserting luminaires

All what was done earlier was in the construction mode, now go to light mode

Download the above ULD data form the direct link to the desktop

After downloading all the files go to file -> import -> luminaire file and import all the 5 ULD data files by selecting the files and clicking open.

Go to floorplan view and select 37838, you can type itin the search box, it will appear in the Select, History Tab

Draw line form point one to point 2 in the ceiling. the line of light should be close to the offset reference line. You can move this line after you draw it by move action.

The quantity of the wallwasher should be 5 and the distance should be 1 m

Makesure the light distribution is going to the left wall by activating show light Distribution form the display option in the upper rightUse rotate option if the light distribution not to the wall.

Go back to light and select, type 37824 in search box and select this light.Draw Rectangular arrangement inside track location using inner reference lines following points 1,2 and 3 as illustrated below.

You can always modify the Rectangular arrangement by selecting Edit Polygon in the top tool bar

Go back to light and select, type 75882 in search box and select this light .in the ploorlan view palace single luminaire in the track location above the flower , you can go to right view and adjust the location to make the luminaire inside the niche(Track)

Select 75870 , in the floorplan view palace it in the track facing the paining and rotate the luminaire by 90° around Z axis

Go to Copy and Arrange tool in LIGHT MODE, and then select the last luminaire and the painting and CENTER Y.

Go back to Luminaire tool and select, type 75890 in the search box

		Place 2 single luminaire somewhere in the room near track location, then modify location as shown.make sure to put – sign  before the rotation for both angles

The last step in luminaire mode before going to calculation is to aim the spot light, the Cantax spot light form ERCO has a rotatable joints as we can see form DIALux icon.If you see the icon heighted in red box this means the luminaire has rotatable parts(model with joints)You can rotate it in the Edit Joints Tool highlighted by orange box

Active 3d view ,Go to Edit Joints tool and select the HEAD OF Cantax Spotlight facing the painingThe head should appear in red, don’t select the luminaire arm or luminaire top, and select only the head. Then click on set illumination point in the Edit joints Actions, then click the mouse cursor to middle of the painting as you could see form the green ring in the third image below so you can easily aim the spot light to the painting.

Aim the other two spot light one for flower and the other for sphere as shown.

Save Camera View or Point of View (POV)

	Go to Views Tool and move the project in 3d view to appropriate view and click on Save New View in actions of views to be able to go back any time to the same view.Any time you can restore the view by clicking on show view icon.Try to save similar view of the project to the one shown under.

Light Calculation

Time to calculate your project, so go to calculation mode

You can start calculation right away but for this tutorial you will learn how to modify control groups and light scenes Go to Light Scene Tool in the CALCULATION MODE

DIALux evo create by default each arrangement as control group, but you can change this anyway.Select the first control Group; it will be the RGBW wallwasherIf you canot see the control group click on the arrow heighted in Green box.The orange box shows you how many you have of this luminaire.You can click inside the red box and change the nameYou have four values as this luminaire has four color of RGBW (Red, Green, blue and warm white). You can dim any value from 100% to 0% before or after calculation.

Keep this control group as it is and keep the group of 6 downlight as it is as well, but delete all other groups by clicking on the x on top right corner of control group window.

Go to Light scenes Actions and select Create new luminaire group and select the new luminaire group which should have 0 luminaire.Select all track spotlights then click on + icon on control group window to add those light to this control group.If you want to remove any of them you can select any spotlight and click on – icon which will be activated only if you select an added luminaire to the group.

Name you light scene to be all Light on

Duplicate light scene form actions of light scene tool then name the new scene asWall washer Cyan ,50% Downlight

Activate Wall washer Cyan, 50% Downlight scene by double clicking on the scene, if you wish activate Generate outputs for this light scene tosee values and results in the output.

After selecting Wall washer Cyan ,50% Downlight scene, modify the scene to haveRGBW wallwasher Group Red=0,Green=100,Blue=100,Warm White=0Downlight Group=50%

Now you have 2 light scene, Remember you can modify these values after calculation, however if you would like to generate different results in the output then you have to create the scene you want.

Note: If you want to speed up the calculation time, then keep only one scene as we have furniture with many surfaces.

Before you start calculation save the project in another name so you can have a backup file.Go to Calculation tool in the CALCULATION MODE and start calculation

You can show the different light scene by clicking on show once calculation finishes or form the top right corner select the required scene form the drop down menu and click on right icon to show it.

If the color appearance of the light looks unnatural, go to display options at the right upper corner and select white balance as manual.The white balance The warmer the color you select (values towards 2000) the cooler the appearance of the room you get and vice versa.Many people get confused thinking that 2000 should make the room very warm like the lamp values, that is not true 2000 means you are seeing the room too warm and software will take that factor to make it cooler.For this tutorial select a value of 4000K.

Go to view and select the saved POV(point of view) and restore it by double clicking on the image, or by selecting the image and clicking the show view button

Go to raytracer  tool Adjust the resolution to the required value (1024×768) Start the rendering You can save the rendering after you get the result by save button

-Zoom to the painting -Go to Results tool -Click on isoclines button -Select the painting surface to get the values in isoclines -You can adjust the color configuration as you wish -You can create outputs for this calculation surface.

Go back to light scene and adjust the light and color as you wish by dimming the value of RGBW Wallwasher or dimming the value of other luminaires

the answer is, we should remember that DIALux is very great tool but it is just a tool, we have to understand lighting design not only software!

many people use in their rendering just an ambient light! ” General lighting” will hardly create a nice rendering shot!

Tip 1 : use a good accent lighting with a minimum ratio between  accent  to General lighting of  5:1

accent lighting should be at least 5 times more than general lighting

Tip 2: use good location to create an interesting shadow good rendering is like good lighting design techniques.

here is a project which have exactly the same objects ,same materials and colors and same point of view but they look completely different!

have a look and say which one you like the most?

the left one with accent or the right one with only general lighting ?

Finally remember we don’t like cloudy day, we like the sunny day more so make you rendering like a sunny Day and enjoy!

This tutorial gives some tips on how you can create a cornice in DIALux; the cornice could be normal like the one on the lift photo below or a cornice for cove light like the one in the right photo below.

First let’s get the cad drawing which have the section of the cornice and import it to DIALux evo 

Follow the step below to import the cad drawing 

Form display options make sure that DWG display is activated 

Now the second step is to create a the object of the cornice

Go to furniture and select Extrusion volume

After that click on draw extrusion volume

Follow the cad lines, when you finish all the points right click and select close polygon.

Now you have created the section of the cornice in the plan view of DIALux, so the next step to rotate the object to be in the right position.

Select the object and go to the position and rotate 90 in x axis 

Now you can see the object 

you can move the object to right location, let’s say for this example it is the ceiling of a room.

You can move it easily in the side or front view 

You can scale the object in the plan view to cover the required space 

Now you can copy and paste the object multiple times to cover all the boundary of the room, then move rotate and scale

according to the required length, you can see form the plan view below 

While moving or rotating, if the any of objects moves in the z axis, you can easily adjust that by the awesome align tool

Go to copy and arrange tool then select all the objects of cornice and click on light align top z then all objects will follow the most top object. 

There is now one step left to refine the shape of all corners

There are two types of corners, inside and outside as you can see form below photo

You don’t need to do anything about the inside corner, but the outside corner will look weird as you can see below 

Now let’s refine it and cut the extra shape.

To cut the extra shape, follow the steps below

I-Zoom to the outside corner

II-Draw an extrusion volume covering the extra triangle area of one object

III-Make sure the corner triangle covering the cornice, if not use copy and arrange tool to align it to the top of the cornice

IV-Select both object and go to copy and arrange tool, then select subtract tab as could be seen form below.

V-Repeat the same steps for the other object

Now you should be having a perfect outside corner cornice

هل سبق ولاحظت قطعة اثاث او ديكور او حتى قطعة ملابس بدت جذابة جدا ورائعة في صالة عرض البيع ولكن عندما تم نقلها الى المنزل بدت باهتة ولم تعد جذابة؟

غالبا مايكون السبب هو الانارة السيئة في المكان الذي تم نقلها اليه!

هل سبق ودخلت مطعم وغادرته بمجرد الانتهاء من وجبة الطعام بينما قصدت مطعم آخر فيه انارة هادئة وجذابه حيث مكثت فيه طويلا لان جو الانارة فيه مريح!

هل تعلم بأن الانارة السيئة تستهلك كمية كبيرة من الكهرباء بل واكثر من ذلك فهي تولد حرارة زائدة بالمكان مما يتطلب زيادة تكييف المكان وبالتالي رفع استهلاك الكهرباء.

هل سبق لك ان واجهت مشكلة في تغيير المصابيح (اللمبات) بشكل متكرر مما جعل الصيانة مكلفة ومتعبة.

الانارة هي اكثر من مجرد ضوء يجعلنا نرى في الظلام، فهي عنصر جمالي و عنصر مؤثر بشكل فعال في راحتنا ورفاهيتنا الجسدية والنفسية والتحكم بعواطفنا!

إذا كنت مهتم فعلا بتصميم جيد للإنارة بحيث يحقق إنارة فعالة ومريحة ومدهشة و جذابة  للمكان والاشخاص، فإنه من المناسب تماما اخذ بعض الوقت لقراءة هذا الدليل الذي يقدم لك نصائح هامة جدا،مما قد يوفر عليك الوقت والجهد والتكلفة في اختيار الانارة المناسبة لك ولمنزلك.

هنالك العديد من الاخطاء المتبعة في اختار انواع الانارة للمنازل وسيتم ذكر اكثرها شيوعا ليتم تداركها عند عملية اختيار وتصميم الانارة.

-1-

 وضع اجهزة غاطسة في السقف (تسمى سبوت لايت) في كل مكان.

يعتبر هذا النوع هو اكثر الاخطاء شيوعا بحيث يعتقد الكثير من الناس بان اسهل طريقة للحصول على انارة هو وضع اجهزة الانارة بمسافات محددة في الغرفة للحصول على كمية كافية متساوية من الانارة في كل مكان مما يقلل من جودة الانارة ويجعل المكان يبدوا كئيبا والنتيجة استهلاك الكهرباء عالي مع جودة سيئة للانارة.

وضع جهاز انارة له حزمة ضيقة (سبوت لايت) في الحمام .

يعتبر هذا ايضا من الاخطاء الشائعة المتكررة والذي يؤدي الى  تشكل ظلال قوية ناتجة من جهاز الانارة مركب في السقف وتزيد شدة الظلال عند وضع اليد على الوجه للتنظيف او الحلاقة او لوضع المكياج بالنسبة للسيدات مما يعيق الرؤيا الجيدة .

إستخدام إنارة متساوية في جميع الاماكن والغرف بغض النظر عن النشاط

إن إهمال النشاط له تاثيرات سلبية على كمية ونوعية الانارة فغرفة النوم مثلا تحتاج الى انارة قليلة بينما يحتاج المطبخ الى انارة عالية وكثير من المستخدمين يضع عدد كبير من اجهزة الانارة بجميع الغرف بغض النظر عن النشاط.

عدم استخدام انارة مركزة على الاشياء الثمينة لاظهارها بشكل جذاب.

إستخدام انارة متساوية في جميع  انحاء الغرفة يجعل الانارة كئيبة ومملة ، للتخلص من هذه الحالة يجب وضع اجهزة خاصة تركز الانارة على الاشياء الثمينة واللوحات الفنية والصور وسيتم الشرح في القسم الثاني.

 استخدام اجهزة تسبب الوهج مما يجعل الانارة غير مريحة اطلاقا

ينتشر بالسوق بشكل كبير اجهزة انارة لها إطار وبداخله مصباح (لمبة) هلوجين وهي تسبب الوهج مما يجعلها مزعجة وغير مريحة.

المبالغة في استخدام الاجهزة الإنارة الديكورية

يضع العديد من الاشخاص احجام كبيرة من الاجهزة الديكورية  او اجهزة ديكورية باعداد كبيرة واحياننا اخرى اجهزة ديكورية لها انارة قوية جدا، ظنا منهم بان هذه الاجهزة تجعل الانارة جذابة وهي بالعكس تماما تكون مزعجة وتجعل الانارة كئيبة بالمكان.

عند عملية التصميم يجب اخذ جميع انواع الانارة بعين الاعتبار وهي  تنقسم الى الانواع الرئيسية الثلاث التالية:

-الإنارة العامة

-الانارة المركزة

-الانارة الديكورية

الانارة العامة

الغرض من هذا النوع هو وجود نور كاف لممارسة النشاط المطلوب في الغرفة ويمكن تحقيق هذا النوع بوجود اجهزة غاطسة في السقف او مركبة على الجدار او بوجود انارة مخفية.

الانارة المركزة

وهذا النوع مهم جدا لاظهار جمالية التحف الثمينة واللوحات الفنية والصور والنباتات حيث يجب ان تكون الانارة على هذه الاشياء اقوى بخمس اضعاف الانارة العامة حتى تظهر بشكل جذاب.

الانارة الديكورية

الاجهزة الديكورية لها نوعين

-أجهزة ديكورية لها منظر جميل مثل النجفات.

-أجهزة ديكورية تعطي اثر ضوئي جميل.

ويعتبر هذا النوع مهم ولكن  بجب عدم المبالغة فيه فالغرض من الانارة الديكورية هو اظهار جمالية الضوء مثل بريق الضوء او لمعان الضوء على قطع من الكريستال.

ليس الغرض من الانارة الديكورية ان تعطي انارة عامة  للمكان ولكن الغرض منها هو اظهار جمالية الجهاز او جمال الضوء او الاثنان معا

غرفة الاستقبال

تعتبر صالات الاستقبال العنوان الرئيسي لجمال وجذابية البيت لذلك يحب الاهتمام بتصميم الانارة فيها بشكل كبير، ويعتبر النشاط الرئيسي في هذه الغرفة هو استقبال الزوار من الضيوف والاهل والاصدقاء وحسب نوعية الزيارة فقد تكون رسمية او غير رسمية لذلك يجب ان تحتوي هذه الغرفة على انواع عديدة من الانارة ونظام تحكم بالانارة بحيث يسهل عملية اختيار نوع الانارة المطلوبة وشدتها.

فعند وجود زيارة رسمية ستحتاج الى انارة هادئة  ومعتدلة من حيث شدة الانارة وتكون الانارة الديكورية مضيئة.

اما اذا كان الزيارة غير رسمية فقد تحتاج الى انارة عالية وربما لاتكون هنالك حاجة لتشغيل الانارة الديكورية.

يجب ان تتوفر الانواع الثلاثة من الانارة في غرفة الاستقبال

الإنارة العامة

الانارة المركزة

الانارة الديكورية

الانارة العامة قد تكون مباشرة عن طريق وجود اجهزة تسمى داون لايت (معروفة باسم سبوت لايت) او انارة غير مباشرة مثل الأجهزة المخفية في الديكور.

يجب الانتباه عند استخدام أجهزة ديكورية ذات اثر ضوئي جميل(مثل الصورة الثانية أعلاه) بان الانارة حول الجهاز يجب ان تكون ضعيفة والا فان الاثر الضوئي لن يكون ظاهرا.

الانارة المركزة تكون على الصور وعلى الاشياء الثمينة مثل التحف الثمينة واللوحات الفنية والصور والورود وبدون وجود هذه الانارة تبدو هذه الاشياء باهتة وغير ملفتة للنظر.

يجب ان تكون الانارة المركزة خمس اضعاف الانارة العامة ويجب ان تستخدم اجهزة لها زاوية مناسبة لحجم القطقة كما سيتم شرحه لاحقا.الاجهزة المستخدمة في الانارة المركزة عادة تكون زاويتها ضيقة  وتكون زاويتها بين 10 درجات و30 درجة بعكس اجهزة الانارة العامة التي تكون زاويتها عريضة ولها زاوية اكبر من 40 درجة

الإنارة الديكورية يتم إختيارها في صالة الاستقبال بحيث تتناسب مع ارتفاع السقف لذلك يجب تجنب وضع احجام كبيرة جدا كما هو شائع في بعض الحالات ويمكن ان توضع بالسقف او تكون انارة جدارية.

يجب ان تتناسق الانارة الديكورية مع الاثاث والتصميم الداخلي للمكان ويفضل التنسيق مع المصمم الداخلي ان وجد.

الانارة الديكورية هي انارة تزيينية لذلك يجب ان لا تغطي شدتها او حجمها على العناصر المهمة من التحف والصور وغيرها في الغرفة.

نظام التحكم بالانارة يفضل ان يكون ذكي وسهل الاستخدام ويفضل ان تتم برمجته بطريقة سهلة بحيث يمكن للمستخدم إستدعاء المشهد المناسب للجلسة المناسبة بضغطة زر واحدة.ويفضل ان تكون جميع  اجهزة الانارة بهذه الغرفة بما فيها الانارة المخفية ان وجدت قابلة للإعتام بحيث يستطيع المستخدم تخفيف شدتها حسب الحاجة.

غرفة المعيشة

يتنوع النشاط بغرفة المعيشة من الجلوس مع الاهل الى القراءة والكتابة ومشاهدة التلفاز وغير ذلك من الانشطة اليومية للأسرة.

تختلف شدة الانارة المطلوبة في غرفة المعيشة حسب النشطا فبينما تتطلب القراءة الى شدة عالية فان مشاهدة التلفاز تتطلب شدة ضعيفة للانارة لذلك يفضل ان تكون جميع اجهزة الانارة قابلة للإعتمام بحيث يمكن للمستخدم تخييف شدة الانارة حسب الحاجة.

ينصح بان يكون هنالك انارة عامة للانشطة المختلفة في هذه الغرفة وانارة مركزة على التحف واللوحات الفنية وتبقى الانارة الديكورية اقل اهمية في هذه الغرفة من وجودها في صالة الاستقبال.

نظام التحكم بالانارة مهم جدا ولذلك لاختلاف متطلبات الانارة باختلاف النشاط في هذه الغرفة ويفضل بان يكون نظام تحكم ذكي.

الحمام- غرفة الملابس-المكياج

ان الخطاء الشائع في هذه الاماكن هو وجود انارة غاطسة بالسقف داون لايت وتعرف بالمصطلح الشائع (سبوت لايت) بجانب المرآة وهذا يسبب ظلال كبيرة وتزيد هذه الظلال عند وضع اليد على الوجه بحيث تعيق الرؤية الفعالة.

وتعتبر هذه المنطقة هي أكثر المناطق  حاجة الى شدة انارة عالية بدون ظلال فهي التي يكون التركيز فيها على إيضاح الصورة بالمرآة ولتجنب الظلال ينصح وضع انارة جانبية على جانب المرآة او فوق المرآة بحيث ياتي الضوء من جميع الاتجاهات ويخفف الظلال تحت العيون والانف وعند وضع اليد على الوجه.

بالنسبة لمنطقة مغاسل الضيوف يمكن وضع انارة ديكورية مناسبة لهذه المنطقة. وإذا وجدت لوحة فنية او عنصر مهم فيمكن وضع انارة مركزة عليه.

المطبخ

يتطلب النشاط بالمطبخ الى انارة عالية وذلك في حالات تحضير الطعام او تنظيف الصحون ويتم ذلك بوضع انارة عامة يمكن ان تكون غاطسة في السقف ويجب تركيز الانارة على مناطق العمل متل منطقة المنضدة (الكاونتر) لذلك ينصح بوضع انارة تحت الخزائن تضيء هذه المنطقة وينصح ايضا بوضع انارة مخفية فوق الخزائن فهي تزيد الانارة العامة وتقلل الظلال وتحسن من شكل الانارة بالمطبخ.

إذا احتوى المطبخ على طاولة طعام فينصح بوضع إنارة مركزة عليها تكون متدلية من السقف او غاطسة فيه كذلك يمكن وضع انارة مركزة على اي عنصر اخر مهم في المطبخ.

غرفة الطعام

ينصح بوضع انارة فوق طاولة الطعام قد تكون غاطسة او متدلية واذا تم اختيارها متدلية يجب ان يكون شكلها ديكوري مناسب لغرفة الطعام بحيث تكون انارة ديكورية ومركزة في نفس الوقت. ويمكن ان تحتوي غرفة الطعام على انارة عامة مخفية بالديكور اذا كان تصميم السقف يسمح بوضع انارة مخفية فيه كما ينصح ايضا بوضع انارة مركزة على اللوحات الفنية والتحف ان وجدت.

اذا كانت غرفة الطعام كبيرة يمكن وضع انارة ديكورية جدارية تكون متناسقة مع الاثاث.

غرفة النوم

تختلف متطلبات الانارة في غرف النوم من انارة هادئة وخفيفة قبل النوم الى انارة اعلى وذلك في حال القراءة لذلك ينصح بان يكون هنالك مستويات متعددة من الانارة العامة الهادئة التي يمكن الحصول عليها من انارة مخفية في السقف او انارة غير مباشرة من أجهزة إنارة ديكورية وتعطي نور هاديء تسمى لامب شيد وتعني بمظلة المصباح (lamp shade) وقد تكون على الطاولة او الجدار او على عامود.

توضع الانارة المركزة على اللوحات الفنية والتحف ويجب ان تكون جميع انواع الانارة قابلة للاعتام حتى يتمكن المستخدم من اختيار شدة الانارة المطلوبة

الموزع والممرات والدرج

يكون النشاط في هذه الفراغات هو العبور من مكان لاخر لذلك لا تحتاج هذه الفراغات الى إنارة عالية وإنما إنارة قليلة تختلف تصميم الانارة لهذه الاماكن بحسب حجم الممر فاذا كان الممر كبير وله سقف مضاعف الارتفاع مثل مدخل بعض الفلل فينصح بوضع نجفة كبيرة ديكورية في منتصف السقف .

يمكن ان تتم انارة هذه الفراغات بانارة غير مباشرة بالسقف او عن طريق اجهزة جدارية تعطي انارة للسقف (كشافات) ويمكن ان تكون هذه الكشافات غاطسة بالجدار وتنير السقف.

بعض هذه الفراغات تحتوي على لوحات فنية لذلك ينصح بوضع انارة مركزة على هذه اللوحات الفنية او القطع الديكورية.

يمكن ان تتم انارة الممرات والدرج بانارة توضع على الجدار لانارة الارضية وفي حال اختيار هذه الطريقة يجب ان يتم اختيار اجهزة انارة لاتعطي حرارة لكي لا تحرق يد الاطفال لانها تكون منخفضة جدا وقريبة من ايديهم.

لا تغني هذه النصائح عن استشارة مهندس متخصص في تصميم الانارة وتبقى نصائح عامة ولكنها مهمة جدا لتدارك بعض الاخطاء الشائعة.

اجهزة الانارة العامة- جهاز الداون لايت

يطلق اسم سبوت لايت وهو اسم شائع ولكنه غير دقيق والمصطح الصائب هو داون لايت لان له انتشار عريض للضوء وتعتير اجهزة الداون لايت التي تستخدم مصابيح الهالوجين والكومباكت فلورسنت (الفلورسنت المدمج) وفي الفترة الاخيرة انتشرت مصابيح جديدة اسمها ليد (LED).

إن اهم ميزة لاجهزة الداون لايت الجيدة هو وجود عاكس يمنع الوهج ويجعل منظر النور في الجهاز مخفي وغير ظاهر وبذلك تكون مريحة للعين وتجعل انارة المكان جيدة بالمقارنة مع الاجهزة الرديئة والتي ليس لها عاكس.

تنتشر الاجهزة التي ليس لها عاكس بشكل كبير في المحلات التي تبيع اجهزة انارة وذلك بسبب عدم معرفة اغلب الزبائن  والباعة بمواصفات الاجهزة الجيدة للانارة.

إن الاجهزة التي لها عاكس تقلل او تمنع الوهج وتجعل المكان مريحا بل واكثر من ذلك فهي تساهم بشكل كبير بمظهر انارة جذاب وبالمقابل فان الاجهزة التي ليس لها عاكس تسبب وهج وتسبب تشوه للانارة بالغرفة فهي تبدوا اكثر نصوعا من اللوحات الفنية والتحف وبالتالي فان رؤية هذه العناصر المهمة لن تكون واضحة بالشكل المطلوب.

اجهزة الانارة العامة – أجهزة لمبات الفلورسنت واليد (LED)

تتمير المصابيح (اللمبات) بميزة تسمى ميزة إظهار الالوان الحقيقية بالمقارنة مع ضوء الشمس الطبيعي فمصابيح الهالوحين لها ميزة إظهار الالوان 100 اي انها تظهر الالوان بنسبة 100% بالمقارنة مع ضوء الشمس ولكن المصابيح الاخرى لها قيم مختلفة تختلف باختلاف جودة الصناعة فمصابيح الفلورسنت متواجدة بقيم من 60-80 % لذلك لا ينصح باخذ النوع الرديء والذي يظهر الالوان بصورة رديئة بالمقارنة مع ضوء الشمس مثل 60% بل ينصح باخذ النوع الذي لا يقل عن 80%.

وهنالك خاصية اخرى وهي خاصية لون الضوء فقد يكون لون الضوء ابيض مصفر او ابيض عادي او ابيض مزرق ويتم اختيار اللون المناسب حسب الرغبة وهنالك رقم درجة حرارة اللون يعبر عنه بالكالفن ويعتبر الرقم اقل من 3200 هو لون ابيض مصفر بينما يكون اللون الابيض العادي 4000 كالفن واكبر من 4000 يكون ابيض مزرق والشكل التالي يبين فروقات الالوان مع قيمها.

هنالك رقم (كود) يكتب على لمبات الفلورسنت والفلورسنت المدمج ويوضح هذا الرقم معامل خاصية اظهار الالوان ولون الوضوء ويكون هذا الكود مكون من ثلاث ارقام XYY ويكتب بعد استطاعة الجهاز بالوات.

يعبر الحد الاول X عن معامل خاصية اظهار الالوان بعد ضربه بالرقم 10

بينما يعبر الحد الثاني والثالث  YYعن لون الضوء بعد ضربه بالرقم 100

فلو فرضنا ان الكود هو 830 فيعني ان خاصية اظهار الالوان 80% وان لون الضوء هو 3000 كالفن وطبعا لاينصح باخذ اي مصباح يبدأ باقل من الرقم 8 لان معامل اظهار اللون مهم جدا بينما درجة حرارة اللون تعتير حسب الرغبة ويبين الشكل التالي هذا الكود واين يوجد على المصابيح.

عند استخدام جهاز الفلورسنت في الانارة المخفية فيجب ان تكون ابعاد الكورنيش او الكوف على الاقل  15 سم او اكثر وإذا كانت اقل من 15 سم فان الانارة لن تنتشر بشكل يجعها تنير الغرفة ويمكن ان يكون هذا الارتفاع اقل في حال استخدام مصابيح اصغر مثل مصابيح الليد (LED).

اجهزة الانارة المركزة-جهاز السبوت لايت

تسمى هذه الاجهزة سبوت لايت وذلك لان لها حزمة ضيقة  وتستخدم للانارة المركزة بعكس احهزة الداون لايت التي تستخدم للانارة العامة.

هنالك انواع عديدة من هذه الاجهزة فمنها ما هو غاطس بالسقف مثل الداون لايت وميزته بانه مخفي بالسقف ولكن من مساؤه بانه محدد الحركه فهو يميل بزاوية 30 درجة فقط.

أما النوع الثاني فهو ظاهر وقد يكون متحرك على سكة تكون غاطسة بالسقف ويمكن امالته بردجات اكبر مما يجعل حر الحركة وهذا النوع يعتبر ملائم اكثر في حال تغيير مكان العنصر المراد تركيز الانارة عليه.

اذا تم اخيار النوع الاول فيجب التاكد بانه يمكن امالتها حتى 30 درجة وتدويرها بكافة الاتجاهات كما يجب ان يكون لها عاكس يمنع الوهج ويخفي النور بالسقف

إختيار الحزمة المناسبة للانارة المركزة

أجهزة الانارة المركزة لها انواع مختلفة من الحزم الضوئية تقاس بالدرجات وهي كالتالي

الحزمة الضيقة جدا تكون اقل من °10

الحزمة الضيقة تكون بين °10 و °20

الحزمة المتوسطة تكون بين °20 و °30

والحزمة العريضة تكون بين °30 و °40

ويتم اختيار الحزمة المناسبة حسب حجم العنصر المراد انارته وبعد هذا العنصر عن مصدر الضوء فمثلا لو كان العنصر صغير جدا فتكون الحزمة المناسبة هي الحزمة الضيقة جدا ولمعرفة التوزيع الضوئي يمكن الاستعانة بالجدول

التالي حيث يبين كل شكل على حجم الضوء عند بعد معين لكل حزمة

فمثلا من شكل الحزمة الضيقة جدا نشاهد ان حجم الضوء المنتشر على بعد ثلاثة امتار من مصدر الضوء هو 26 سم اما على بعد مترين فتكون هذه الحزمة 17 سم. ويكون حجم الحزمة المتوسطة التي لها زاوية 24 درجة على بعد مترين هو 78 سم .

ويلخص الجدول التالي اهم الابعاد للاشكال السابقة:

مثال على الانارة المركزة لجسم على الارض او على طاولة

إذا فرضنا ان هنالك عنصر صغير بحجم 25 سم  موضوع على الارضية وجهاز الانارة موضوع بالسقف الذي له ارتفاع ثلاثة امتار فنلاحظ من الجدول السابق ان اقرب حزمة ضوئية هي التي له زاوية بمقدار 5 درجات فعندها يمكن اختيار جهاز له حزمة ضوئية بمقدرا خمس درجات او اقرب ما يكون لهذه الدرجة ويمكن وضع الجهاز فوق العنصر مباشرة او يبعد عنه بمقدار متر واحد لا اكثر.

ولو فرضنا ان هذا العنصر الصغير الذي حجمه 25 سم  موضوع على طاولة ارتفاعها 75 سم وجهاز الانارة موضوع على سقف ارتفاعه 2.75 م فيكون بعد الجهاز عن العنصر هو متران وذلك لسبب ان العنصر موضوع على الطاولة فنجد من الجدول التالي ان اقرب بين 5 و10 درجات طبعا هذه الحسابات تقريبة وليس بالضرورة ان تكون دقيقة وانما تكون اقرب ما يكون.

مثال على الانارة المركزة للوحة فنية او صورة على الحائط

عند وضع انارة مركزة على الحائط يجب الانتباه الى الملاحظات التالية

-يحب ان يكون بعد الجهاز عن الجدار هو نصف بعد منتصف الصورة عن السقف حتى يتم التوزيع الجيد للضوء والا فان الضوء لن يتوزع بشكل جيد.

لوكان بعد منتصف الصورة عن السقف هو 150 سم فيكون البعد المقترح لجهاز الانارة عن الجدار هو 75 سم وبشكل عام لارتفاعات الغرف بحدود 3 امتار ينصح ان يكون بعد الجهاز عن الجدار من 75 سم الى 85 سم.

-يجب ان يتم اختيار حزمة ضوئية مناسبة لحجم الصورة او اللوحة الفنية ويمكن الاستعانة بالجدول السابق.

-يجب ان تكون شدة الانارة المركزة خمس اضعاف الانارة العامة وتعتبر احسن طريقة لاختيار اجهزة الانارة المناسبة هي استخدام برامج حسابات الانارة لذلك ينصح بالاستعانة بمصمم انارة او الاستعانة بخبرات شركات الانارة حتى تتم اختيار الحزمة المناسبة وشدة الانارة المناسبة مع اختيار استطاعة الجهاز (الوات) الذي يحقق انارة عامة وانارة مركزة جيدة ومناسبة للتطبيق المناسب.
