DIALux evo Tutorial 13 (DLX-T13)

Creating vault ceiling in DIALux evo

for this tutorial, I have created a room of 12×6 meter , height of 4 meter, the room has columns with spacing of 3 meter as in the next plan

Step-1

after inserting ceiling into the room change  clearance height and ceiling thickness as follows:

 clearance height to 3 meter

ceiling thickness to 1 meter

Clearance height=3, Ceiling thickness=1

Step-2

insert Circular cutout, but make number of segments 64 for the Circular cutou

make number of segments 64 for the Circular cutou

you could insert this Circular cutout anywhere in the ceiling ,later it will be moved and rotated

Step-3

select the Circular cutout and change the value on the positioing box

Rotation X=90

Size X=3.5 Y=1.8

rotate the Circular cutout by 90 on X and change size to X=3.5 Y=1.8

Step-4

in the plan view rotate and move the Circular Cutout as in the next images

Rotate the Circular Cutout so the Z arrow are located to the left of the room

Move the Circular Cutout to the left of the columns

 

Step-5

select the Circular Cutout and limit the cutting depth to 9.5 m

Activate limit cutting depth and use 9.5 m for cutting depth

Step-6

to make the cross vault ceiling insert another circular cutout with 64 segments  then rotate and change size

Step-7

Move in the plan view and Activate limit cutting depth and use 3.5 m for cutting depth

Step-8

create another two circular cutout with 64 segments

Rotate and move then activate the limit cutting depth to 3.5

Note:

you have to rotate the cutout in the right direction, if it doesn’t

work rotate to the opposite direction,

Try alwayes to inser the cutout in the room or storey view, however after you insert the cutout and if you have only one floor ues plan view of the Buiding to see the top view of the vulte, move and rotate to see the vault

dlxt13 dialux evo move the cutout by holding the corner point to the other corner
For prices adjacent zoom and move the corner points
